چکیده

Surface roughness is a major part of soil surface condition. It results from tillage operations and weathering. parameterisation still scientific lock the object many studies. An efficient parametrisation by modelling bidirectional autocorrelation function estimated 2.5D digital elevation models surfaces introduced. not only provides geostatistical parameters that can be related to other characteristics, but let us emphasise it reproduces with very good accuracy. The often modelled three parameters, height variance, single correlation length, exponent. We added two in order take into account anisotropy align coordinate system direction maximum length. propose way estimate show its robustness for using laboratory tests repeated rainfall events. One evolves isotropy anisotropy, undergoes reduction initial anisotropy. improvement brought second length thus highlighted. Under impact, variation lengths more marked than usual parameter root mean squared heights. Both are complementary, capturing horizontal or vertical respectively. evolution exponent showed slight increasing trend, which smoothing.

Multifractal Analysis of Soil Surface Roughness

Soil surface roughness (SSR) is a parameter highly suited to the study of soil susceptibility to wind and water erosion. The development of a methodology for quantifying SSR is therefore instrumental to soil evaluation. We developed such a method, based on the multifractal analysis (MFA) of soil elevation measurements collected at the intersections on a 2by 2-cm grid in a 200by 200-cm plot. Sam...

On the use of back propagation and radial basis function neural networks in surface roughness prediction

Various artificial neural networks types are examined and compared for the prediction of surface roughness in manufacturing technology. The aim of the study is to evaluate different kinds of neural networks and observe their performance and applicability on the same problem. More specifically, feed-forward artificial neural networks are trained with three different back propagation algorithms, ...
